Why Are Gladiator Sandals So Popular?

When gladiator sandals were first introduced to the fashion world, they did not get a warm reception, and most people thought they wouldn’t last into the next fashion season.  In fact, many thought that 2008 would be the end of gladiator sandals in the fashion world.  But, they were wrong, and gladiator sandals remain just as popular, if not more popular, than they were before.  But, what makes them so popular?  I am going to go through a few of the reasons as to why I think they are popular.

1. Celebrities are wearing them.  It is a known fact that what celebrities wear on the red carpet has a huge influence on the popularity of certain fashion items.  many different celebrities have been seen wearing these gladiator sandals, in all different colors and styles. But, why are these celebrities so interested in wearing gladiator sandals and increasing the popularity of them?

2. They are comfortable and pretty flexible.  They can be worn with many different outfits and clothing types, and so this makes them a popular choice for casual and even formal wear.

3. Lastly, they are pretty popular because they help to portray an image of the strong modern woman, due to their roots of the gladiator sandal style.  Gladiator sandals are pretty simple, featuring a lot of straps and showing off a lot of the skin on the foot and ankle that other shoes cover up.  They also feature strong metals such as studs or buckles which add to the fierce look of them.

You can find gladiator sandals in a variety of colors, with black, brown, gold and silver being the dominant colors, but you can find orange and  green and other bold colors. They even have hot pink gladiator sandals.  If you’re wanting to wear some of the top fashions, then gladiator sandals are definitely for you.
