If you are looking to buy an ab bench, then there are a few features that you may wish to consider before you make your purchase. There are actually quite a few options when it comes to purchasing ab benches, and you want to make sure that you 1) get the most for your money, and 2) get the bench that suits your needs the best.

One such option that you need to consider is if the bench will be able to fold up or not. A folding abdominal bench is great for people in apartments or smaller homes but still want a good, sturdy, proven fitness device to do crunches on (versus buying the latest ab-gimmick that you see on television, a solid ab bench will really work and help you accomplish your goals).

Second, you may want to consider buying one with a hyper extension back board option. Finally, if space and money are really issues, and the hyper extension benefits don’t interest you, then you may want to consider simply purchasing a large exercise balance ball. With the ball you are still able to do many great ab exercises, and you can get a good one for as little as $10 online at a great store like Amazon.
