Wall Color for the Scrapbooking Room

Many people when setting up a scrapbooking room, fail to realize the importance of the wall color choice are making. An important theme for decorating a scrapbooking room should be lighting! When you think about the space you choose for your scrapbook room, you are probably looking at a place with the best lighting you can get. When you are looking at furniture placement, you are also looking to take advantage of any lighting that may already be in the room. The other thing you should consider when thinking about your scrapbooking room is your wall color of choice.

You may like a dark color like ruby red or sapphire blue, but is your favorite color really one that you should use in this room? Ideally, you should stay away from these dark colors unless you have a lot of strong natural light in the room. Are there a lot of windows? Then maybe dark colors would work and you can go with whatever strikes your fancy. But, please remember that to take advantage of the optimum amount of light, it is advisable to stick with light colors, pastels or even white for wall colors. Lighter colors not only help reflect the light to make your scrapbooking room appear brighter but it also gives the illusion of a larger space.

You can still decorate your scrapbooking room in colors that appeal to you, even if the wall color isn’t your favorite choice. If you choose a light color like white or off-white, you can easily bring in any other color as an accent. Maybe you will decide to paint a few pieces of furniture your favorite color, or maybe there is some artwork for the wall that will bring in this color for you. Another idea for adding color to your scrapbooking room is to have a chair cushion made in a fabric that you love.

Whatever you end up deciding for your scrapbooking room wall color, make sure that you go as light as possible. This will help ensure that you get the optimum use out of your space.
