Useful Bathroom Design Tips

The bathroom can be a sort of refuge, be it during hot or cold weather, when you are looking for a nice soak in the tub to soothe yourself from the day’s stress. You can fill it with all sorts of nice-smelling things (e.g., perfume, bath salts, fragrant liquid soaps, luxurious shampoos, and other toiletries) and comforting art (e.g., flower vases, paintings, etc.). The bathroom can be your daily escape and source of comfort.

When picking a bathroom design, you have to consider the space you have to work with. Smaller spaces would do well with fitted bathroom installation options for storage shelves and sinks. You can have modular types that leave you with more floor space and allow you to do more with one spot. For instance, you can have wall-mounted cabinets with fitted lights over a modular sink with a mirror and a towel holder on the side. You can place an attractive bouquet of flowers on the cabinet, and perhaps a line of decorative bottles.

The idea behind this concept of bathroom design is to make the most of existing fixtures to avoid clutter. For example, since the towel holder can be placed on the wall at the side of the tub, then the door is free for you to mount a body-length mirror. All these small details add up, making your bathroom installation plan very important.

Admittedly, more can be done with larger spaces in terms of bathroom design, but it does not diminish the charm of well laid out smaller bathrooms. Regardless of size, a free-standing or footed bath tub is ideal. Apart from being more aesthetically pleasing, it also saves on floor space.

In terms of other kinds of bathroom installation, lighting is very important, and does a lot when it comes to making your overall bathroom design look stunning. Avoid using carpets in the bathroom as they tend to weather and wear out easily.
