Tips For Simple and Cheap Wedding Centerpieces

Wedding centerpieces are going to attract your guests attention if you have been creative with them whatever their cost. But coming up with ideas for cheap wedding centerpieces can be difficult so here are some ideas to get your creative juices flowing.

A slab of ice may not sound beautiful but it can be molded into something that will certainly have the ‘wow factor’ you are looking for. Creating an ice sculpture is a skilled job and it can take hours to create a masterpiece but there are a couple of easy cheats that you can use. Firstly you can find a mold in a design that appeals to you, fill it with distilled water not quite to the top, let it rest a while and then freeze it for 2-3 days. You could add food coloring to the water to make a more unique effect. When displaying ice sculptures remember to stand them on blocks of ice to ensure they last long enough. If you cannot find any suitable molds try putting some roses inside a cube ice sculpture. This should be easy to recreate for each table and will keep your guests talking all night.

Wine is served at most wedding receptions so why not put this expense to more than one use. Use the wine bottles surrounded by glasses as part of your centerpiece, perhaps combined with an empty wine bottle holding a long stemmed, large headed flower.

Balloons are a popular but cheap material for wedding centerpieces. You can get ones shaped as hearts as well as sparkly ones especially for weddings. Tie a bunch of balloons together – odd numbers work best – and try to alter the heights within the bunch. Make the arrangement that little bit more unique by anchoring the ribbons with large chocolate bars or something else more interesting than a rock.

The time of year can often help you come up with wedding centerpiece ideas. Carved out pumpkins can make good holders for cheap candle displays or can be used as a vase for fresh flowers if you are getting married in the fall. Winter weddings can inspire mini Christmas trees or any number of other festive decorations.
