The Next Generation of Toasters

February 6, 2010 | Author: Admin | Filed under: Home

The days of the clunky and bulky toasters sitting in our kitchens are over.  These days, appliance manufacturers are designing sleek and stylish models that fit in nicely with our overall kitchen designs.  Instead of the usual boxy, square designs, you now have other choices as well.  Let’s take a look at some of the new styles available to consumers for browning their bread in the morning:

One of the latest styles is a single long slot toaster.  As its name suggests, these units are made long and thin, and the bread is placed end to end instead of next to each other.  The advantage of getting a design like this is that you can push it up against the wall and still have enough room to put another appliance in front of it.  These days, kitchens are usually so filled with appliances that free counter space is hard to find!  With almost all other appliances being square, a long thin one can occupy a usually unused space.

Another simple thing that manufacturers have caught onto is color.  Companies finally realized that not every consumer wants to buy the same old boring colored appliances.  Thanks to this insight, you can now buy a toaster in the color you want.  For instance, the Hamilton Beach yellow toaster can really add a touch of brightness to your kitchen.  If you have lots of light appliances or a light-colored countertop, you can choose a red or blue toaster to contrast and sort of balance out the colors.

In addition to this, some toasters come with really wide slots to accommodate larger things like bagels and muffins.  I remember trying to shove a fat bagel inside my toaster years ago.  These days, most toasters are plenty wide to accommodate things like this without the need to smash them down!
