The Art Of Magic Tricks
Magic, it has entertained and baffled crowds for thousands of years. Magicians have been making the impossible seem possible ever since the days of the Roman empire. But magic is not really magic, it is all based on the psychology of deception. To be able to pull off a trick, it is vital that the magician is able to keep his audience from realizing what he is really doing. If the magician can hold the audiences attention, then all he would need is a very small amount of apparatus and some skill of the hand. Sometimes distracting the audiences mind during the trick is just as important as distracting there eyes.
Some magic tricks are fairly simple and easy to learn, for example magic card tricks using a deck of cards are usually the first tricks a magician will attempt to perform to an audience. There are hundreds of different card tricks. Using these tricks is a good way to gauge an audiences attention to detail and if practiced often these kind of magic tricks rarely, if ever, fail. A lot of the skill involved in card tricks is timing and a quick slide of hand, although some of the illusion like card tricks, such as the levitating card, do involve contraptions or strings to complete the illusion.
It seems that magic tricks have become more and more complex and complicated over time. Some of the more modern tricks that you can see performed on television take a large crew of people to assist the magician in successfully completing the trick. Mechanics are often used in the more elaborate tricks as well as placed lighting and smoke.Vast amounts of supplies and equipment are used to perform the magic trick. Most of it is never seen by the audience.
The more flashing lights and loud music being played during the performance, the easier it is distract the audience from what is really happening and not have the magic tricks revealed. Some magic tricks today involve nothing more then mirrors, like with the disappearing military tank act, the tank actually really does not go anywhere, the perception of the audiences view is obscured by mirrors only making it appeared to have disappeared.
Magicians tricks are a form of entertainment that has survived time thus far and will probably be around for thousands of more years. Who knows, one day they might figure out how to make a building disappear.
