Tattoo Gun Kits: Are They Worth It?

There’s a lot of trash talk surrounding the making, selling, and use of tattoo kits. One type of infamous tattoo kit is the tattoo gun kit. This kit is similar to the basic idea of a tattoo kit in that you get everything you need to do tattoos all in one box at one time, but in the case of tattoo guns kit, you get 2 or 3 guns instead of just 1. Are these things worth your money? Or are they a waste of your dollar?

Here are two sides to the question on the worth of tattoo gun kits.

The Pro-Tattoo Gun Kit Crowd Might Say…

…yes! Buying a tattoo kit with guns is a great idea if:

1. You’re just starting out or are interested in learning how to handle, load, and clean tattoo guns and equipment.
2. You don’t really want to spend a lot of money on these things just yet – you’re just starting!
3. You definitely want an extra gun but you still want the needles, inks, flash art, and other items found in every tattoo kit.

Okay, so what does the other side have to say?

The Tattoo Gun Kits Are Lame Crowd Might Say…

…no! These kits are basically a rip off. You would definitely not buy one if:

1. You were a real tattoo artist working in this industry already.
2. You have the money to buy individual tattoo machines (“don’t call them tattoo guns!”) that are of better quality – not to mention fit your hand better.
3. You know it’s best to buy all your supplies individually anyway – not just the guns.
