Talalay Latex Mattress – Understanding the Production Process
There are a variety of methods used in crafting Talalay latex mattress. The production process involves making molded pieces of pure and natural latex foam rubber.
Production Process
The natural latex rubber, in liquid form, becomes a mold with excess air completely removed. When the rubber is generously placed into the mold, it is then frozen. The molded latex rubber is injected with carbon dioxide and then appropriately cured through heating. The finished product made in this method is a great alternative to foam products that are chemically-produced. Memory foam and synthetic latex products are created with the use of petroleum-based compounds and are known to off gas in the long run. Off gassing takes place when the foam materials elicit gasses. This results to strong and unpleasant odor from the mattress.
The Talalay production process makes latex foam from natural or organic material. However, the entire procedure may not be wholly natural because ammonia at times is used to even out the liquid rubber. On the other hand, synthetic procedures entail utilizing petroleum-based compounds to create synthetic latex foam.
Once the latex foam is cured by heating, it is then rinsed and dried. All-natural latex foam created through the Talalay process comes with numerous benefits over synthetic mattresses and foams. Since the substances are organic, the mattress may be recycled and reused when it has arrived at the end of its life cycle. This is very advantageous to the environment.
Talalay latex foam is resistant to fire, hypoallergenic, and insolent against dust, mold, and mildew. Synthetic foams are produced using chemicals and may therefore result to skin and allergic reactions. In addition, synthetic foam is also known for off gassing, creating bad smell for a particular period of time.
Final Note
The latex mattress Talalay makes great quality latex foam rubber, though it can be very expensive. The main advantage of synthetic mattress foam is their economical cost. You should note though that a high quality latex foam mattress may lasts over 30 years, which is way longer than non-natural foam mattresses lifespan, making the overall cost as good as the term of use.
