Home owners nowadays love the idea of renovating their home. They want to see their hard earned money transform into something they can be proud of. That is why having a beautiful home is a must for people that earn good money. This is highly noticeable in the kitchen area and the bathroom. Instead of the traditional bathroom, home owners are adding bathroom vanity units and walk in showers.

These are great additions to any bathroom and one of the more popular ways of installing a shower is by using a shower kit. What exactly is a shower kit? Shower kits are packs of shower parts individually handpicked to match with one another beautifully. They are made up of the shower base, the wall, shower faucet, shower head and the shower handle. So what are the pros and cons in using this shower kit?

There are quite a bit of advantages in using it. For one it is faster because all the individual parts are already selected for you. They are grouped together and the designs match with one another. Usually the styles are categorized depending on what type of bathroom you have.

It is also easier to install because almost all shower kits have instructions that tell you exactly what you need to do. The manual is provided in a step by step fashion and is quite easy to understand.

It’s also cheaper. Walk in shower kits are cheaper in the sense that you don’t need to hire a professional plumber to install the shower because it is made for do-it-yourself kind of installation.

Some disadvantage though is that it’s also difficult for people that don’t have the patience to install the shower. The process is certainly not for everyone most especially if you don’t the handyman spirit in you and can hardly assemble a do-it-yourself project. Another thing to take note is that there is a possible risk involved when installing it all by yourself. The shower system may have leaks that you do not know of and can create a spike in your water bills.
