Playing with your son

For many fathers it is important to spend time with their boys to develop a special bond. There are many games we can play with our boys and if we buy Bakugan toys we can enjoy playing the Bakugan Battle Brawlers game with our boys. This is a game that is currently very popular in North America. There is a cartoon series of the same name. If you are not familiar with either the cartoon or the game, think Pokemon and you are on the right lines. In my opinion it is one of the best boys toys currently available. It is both fun, educational and something they can play with dad. So for me, this ticks all the boxes.

The aim of the Bakugan game is to win three gate cards. The first player to do so wins the game. At the start of the game each player starts off with three of each of the following, Bakugan balls, gate cards and ability cards. Game play is pretty straight forward but may seem a bit confusing to begin with.

Each player, you and your son, puts one of their gate cards onto the floor next to each other. Then starting with your son, you take turns trying to roll your Bakugan balls onto the gate cards. The cards themselves are metallic so when the Bakugan warrior rolls over a card it magnetically pops open ready for battle. Then once there is a warrior from either side on the same gate card, battle may commence.

The characters have a G-Power score printed on them. This is their base score. Then on the reverse of the gate card there is a number to add to this, depending upon which attribute the Bakugan possesses.

You see this game is actually educational as well as being fun. Just the sort of game I like to play with my son.
