February 2, 2010 | Author: Admin | Filed under: Recreation and Sports

To become a most valuable player you have to be the reason your team has gotten as far as it has. In team sports it takes a good team to make it to the World Series, NBA finals, Stanley Cup, or the Super Bowl. This team of great players must have a leader. The person that gives them the edge to win. Some sports take a scorer and others defense rules. Most of the time a most valuable players is an offensive force.

In football an offensive player is generally the one. The person defenses can not stop. Most of the time it is between a running back or quarterback. A quarterback has to control the game. He handles the ball on every play. He has to hand off, pass or run the ball occasionally himself. This is the position with the most responsibility. He has to be smart and atheletic. A good arm is only a small part of being a quarterback. You have to be able to use it. Peyton Manning has the intelligents, good arm, and the ability to use it.   It is for these reasons that the Peyton Manning rookie football card is so in demand.

Peyton Manning most valuable player maybe not an easy choice but a good choice. Peyton Manning has led his Indianapolis Colts back to the Super Bowl. Peyton Manning is the first person to be named the National Football Leagues most valuable player four times. Brett Favre is the only other person to have 3 National Football League Most Valuable Player Awards. Manning won the MVP race leaving Drew Brees a distant second in the voting. Peyton Manning had another unbelievable season leading Indianapolis with 4500 throwing yards. He passed for 33 touchdowns as well as leading the Colts to a 14 and 0 start. Many of these victories were comeback wins. These comebacks were finely orchestrated by Peyton himself.

With losing a long time favorite target, Marvin Harrison, Manning adapted well. He made do with Reggie Wayne and Dallas Clark each making 100 + catches. Peyton has proclaimed that the whole offense has something to do with their great season and his performance. It is a team sport and the whole team should be credited.   However, when looking for football rookie cards, we all need to gravitate towards a specific player.  Peyton Manning epitomizes what we are looking for.

Peyton Manning joins an elite group that leads their respective sports in MVP awards. Wayne Gretzky has 9 awards in the NHL. Barry Bonds has 7 awards in MLB play and Kareem Abdul Jabbar has an unprecedented 6 in the NBA. Peyton Manning deserves to join this group for his play throughout his career.
