Online dating is a great solution to dating in the 21st Century. However, you need to make sure that you take the time to create an appealing online dating profile so that you attract the right people.

• Use a current picture- I know, I know…why would anyone not use a current picture? Well let me tell you why..they looked better when they were younger- that’s why. You need to be happy with yourself on the inside and on the outside.
• Honesty is always the best policy- Don’t think that by telling little white lies on your profile that you aren’t going to be found out later. How do you expect to have any type of lasting relationship that starts off with you lying about yourself?
• Don’t overdue it- You do want to put your best foot forward and present yourself in a positive light, but make sure that you aren’t trying to make yourself in to somebody that you aren’t. For instance, if you think it sounds good for you to have done volunteer work and you help feed the homeless at Thanksgiving, but in reality these are only things that you have thought about doing, then you might want to just skip those details.
• Likes and dislikes- This is really your chance to increase the odds that you will end up with someone that has a lot of the same interests as you. If you really dislike opera or eating spinach, then put that down. If your favorite thing to do in the world is to take a nap every afternoon, then make sure you disclose it. We all have been in relationships in the past where we wish we would have know something about our partner earlier on so that we could have made a more informed decision whether to be with that person or not.

Your online dating profile can make you or break you. My last online dating tip is to take the time to create an interesting yet honest profile that will ensure that you find that special someone you have always been dreaming about.
