April 12, 2010 | Author: Admin | Filed under: Home

Buying a new carpet in Atlanta has become much easier in recent years with the internet and larger stores providing more choice. There are different materials used for carpets though and each has its own advantages and disadvantages. This article will go through a few of the different materials so that when you next visit an Atlanta carpet store you’ll have a better idea of what to look for.

Wool – Wool carpets are probably the most comfortable type of carpet but are also the most expensive. If you have a young family then a wool carpet is asking for trouble as they can be difficult to clean if something gets spilt. However, they’re a great option if you want to make a room more luxurious.

Nylon – Nylon is a synthetic material that is useful if you need a durable carpet. In contrast to wool, nylon is a great choice if you have a young family because it will last a long time and is relatively easy to clean should something be spilt onto it.

Polyester – If you want a luxurious carpet without the problems with cleaning wool then a polyester carpet may be the perfect choice. Polyester is another material that’s easy to clean and also is resistant to many types of stains.

Other commonly used types of carpet include acrylic and olefin. The type of carpet that’s right for you depends on a number of different factors including which room the carpet is going to be placed in, how much you want to spend and who’s going to be regularly using the carpet. By taking all these factors into account you’ll have a much better chance of getting the right one.
