Link Building for Success

Link building is the most important step to making your internet business work.  And by making it work, we mean making money from it.  You want to make sure your site presents the best content possible, and you want to ensure your viewers feel the site is helpful.  You need to have links that point web users to your website.  If you don’t have these things, no one will ever visit your web page, and you won’t make any money.

Your site will do well in search engine results only if you set up enough links to it.  Backlinks make your business grow, and your business will not prosper without them.  Backlinks are the incoming links to a website or web page.  Here are a few good ways to make your website prosperous.

First and foremost, you will need to have your website set up with articles that match your main keywords and secondary keywords. Also, you will need to have links pointing to those articles and your web page. These articles will be the ones which you will have had submitted to article directories.  You will need to set up backlinks to some of these directories to increase the PR of your articles.

Remember that you want to build your links gradually, and make sure to place them with a gradual increase.  Don’t place hundreds or thousands of links to a new site the first days or you may find your site banned in Google.

Ways to build links to your site include blogging.  You can blog about your site yourself (on a blog that you own and operate) or have others blog about you.  Or, you can leave real comments on blogs and forums, with a backlink to your site.  It should be a real comment, not just an ad for your web page, or it will be flagged.

There is also link baiting (which has come to be the preferred way of natural link building).  Link baiting means to create something that naturally attract backlinks for your site by getting people to discuss your site—on forums, social network sites, or in blogs.

In addition, there are link exchanges, article submissions, and social networking sites. Link exchange means that you find a site that you like and swap links.  Or do a Google search with your key words to find sites that are similar to yours and contact the site’s owners to see if you can do an exchange.  Next, social networking sites offer very cheap ads, or you can build a page on the site that will allow you to post links to your web page.  Article submissions occur when you write an article with links in the article that lead to your site. Or you can pay someone to write these articles for you. You then submit the articles to article directories. These articles highlight and link your key words and send the readers to your site.
