La Nucia Alicante

Many people who visit the province of Alicante, just like those who vacation through most of the south eastern and southern Spain, come here for a party atmosphere in the sun. But there are plenty of people who come to Spain to enjoy a quiet life and really get rid of the day-to-day hassles for a while. For that, there is really no better place than la Nucia. La Nucia is a small town which is a short drive away from Alicante city itself, and not very far at all from the city of Benidorm.

When the first inhabitants first set eyes on la Nucia they must have thought that they were in heaven. Here they found a plentiful water source and arable land with which to work. Agriculture has been a major contributor towards the economic prosperity of the town for hundreds of years. It was the Moors who invaded this land and brought their system of irrigation to this land, transforming wherever the future of the Spanish. Today, la Nucia has shrugged off this agricultural background to a certain extent and is embracing the ever-growing needs of tourism. But instead of trying to compete with the big cities of Benidorm, Alicante, and Torrevieja in the south, la Nucia is offering something of a wilderness retreat.

This is the beauty of a small town like this with such noisy neighbors. The fact is that you can come to this town on your vacation with the intentions of spending a beautiful quiet Spanish holiday, eating good food and drinking great wine, strolling along the beautiful streets and into the verdant parks. And then if you feel like it, you can jump into your car and take a quick drive to the coastline. There is hundreds of kilometres of absolutely wonderful white and golden sandy beaches to choose from. Here you can do your sunbathing, watch the world go by for a while, and maybe visit one of the big cities. But the charm and tranquility of la Nucia will draw you back into this fantastic retreat.
