Is Cheap Car Insurance For Young Drivers Possible?

Getting cheap car insurance is never easy but when you are a young driver it becomes all but impossible. The reasons for this are well known, its simply because the younger a driver is the more likely they are to make a claim on their policy. Not only that but the claims tend to be bigger as some reckless drivers has high speed crashes which can cause carnage on the roads.

If you are looking for cheap car insurance for young drivers then you are probably aware that there are a few things that you can do to improve your chances of finding a company who will insure, and hopefully give you a price that you can afford to pay. The first thing that everyone thinks of is to buy a car that is slower. Its well known that fast sports cars driven buy young drivers are a bad combination. So if you are new to the roads then a car with a small engine should be at the top of your shopping list. You probably want to get the fastest, fanciest car you can afford but this will not only cost a fortune for cover, but could well put you in danger.

Buying a cheaper car is also going to help your case. If you car isn’t worth as much then the insurance company won’t have to pay out as much cash if they have to repair it in the event of an accident. Isn’t really a problem for most new drivers as we usually only have a couple of thousand to spend on a vehicle anyway so we are not going to be buying a Ferrari any time soon.

Other things you might want to try are getting a security device fitted to your car to help reduce the chances of it getting stolen, or agreeing to park it in the garage overnight. If you have a parent who you live with who has a car you could also get put on their insurance for a couple of years rather then buying your own car. This will reduce the amount you have to pay quite substantially.
