Howse Tells Perkins, Sekulow, Dobson, Robertson Publicly: ![]() Brannon Howse in an appearance on the O'Reilly Factor. Brannon Howse has gone public in telling the most widely known leaders and lawyers of the "pro-family" movement, that they are doing more harm than good and they need to get out of the way for new leaders. The quotes in the latest commentary by the talk show host, columnist and president of American Family Policy Institute, are very potent. "I must no longer follow your lead or trust your instincts. If others still follow you they may do so at the peril of our cause. We need new pro-family leaders," Howse wrote in a column. Here's the Underground's analysis of a story that will not be fully grasped by the clueless liberals and placebo "conservatives" in the big media: Howse's criticism will stun many because it is virtually unheard of to speak even privately in such confrontational terms within evangelical circles. Such a public statement may have no modern precedent. But the conclusions he stated publicly have been felt shared by many insiders and are reaching a rapidly growing consensus among grassroots "values voters and activist leaders. And that Howse felt such words are demanded bespeaks the deep disappointment that the political and financial corruption of the "social conservative" and "pro-family movement" has reached the stage where there is little shame about the feeding frenzy over the money and favors of multi-millionaire Mitt Romney.
But Underground leaders and activists have seen this coming for a long time. These things were obvious a year ago, and to many long-time "conservative" movement insiders they have been obvious for a decade or two. Notice that Howse focuses on so-called "pro-family" leaders and lawyers and avoids mentioning the "secular" pro-Republican "conservative" elites. He may simply have expected more vision and integrity from those using the name of Christ in their fundraising. The Underground certainly has plenty of evidence that the blind arrogance, corruption, cynicism and jaw-dropping incompetence are equally advanced among the bon vivant Fox News-National Review-Limbaugh-Hannity-Weekly Standard-Human Events crowd of self-styled "conservatives" who mostly believe in morals and ethics, at the theoretical level, at least. Things like this are just not said publicly by prominent conservatives. Howse is a "pro-family" movement insider, as the photos below suggest. That's why his going public makes it sort of official: the pro-family "elites" and the "conservative movement" are not dead, exactly. It's actually worse than that. Many of the high-flying lawyers, leaders, radio hosts and columnists are doing far, far more damage than good. The conservative establishment is undead, wandering around like a zombie wreaking havoc. Part of the story is why it took so many years of betrayals, sell-outs and plain old surrenders before the Romney overload of straw finally broke the camel's back. Here are the most striking comments from Howse's commentary, which will make waves (his column is published by the Underground below):
If the full truth comes out it will finally be understood that it was not the militant homosexuals who obliterated the world's oldest functioning constitution, co-written by John Adams for Massachusetts and illegally imposed sodomy-based "marriage." It was the Family Research Council's Tony Perkins, Atty. Jay Sekulow, Focus On the Family's Tom Minnery, Atty. David French and others at the Alliance Defense Fund, Right to Life Atty. James Bopp, the National Review and many other "conservatives who claim to be "constitutionalists." It was the corrupt and cynical "conservative" establishment and the "pro-family" marketing industry that sucks cash and loyalty out of the smaller, more principled and more dynamic pro-family and pro-life groups and leaves them constantly on the verge of closing down -- although these are the groups that fight the real battles. Indeed, runaway greed, lying, ambition and unbelievable incompetence by well-known "conservatives" and "pro-family" leaders -- especially their arrogant and desperately incompetent lawyers like Sekulow, Bopp and some at the Alliance Defense Fund -- have done deep and lasting harm to the causes they claim to fight for. It is the opinion of some members of the Underground that many of them ought to be sued by people who donated money to their organizations and some ought to be investigated for criminal misrepresentation to their donors. If James Dobson and those who pull the strings at the Family Research Council have any sense at all, there will be firings, resignations and a full accounting of the gross legal malpractice, secret financial dealings and fatal conflicts of interest that underlie the surrender of the battle for marriage, the natural human family, childhood innocence and the right to life in Massachusetts. SEE NOTE AT BOTTOM RE: It's Not a Conspiracy. It's Just a Cover-Up. Posted: 02/05/2008 When Hillary and Obama Win the White House... You Can Thank Pro-Family Leaders for Not Being Leaders According to Bauer, former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee's decision to stay in the GOP race threatens to derail former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney's White House bid. "... I think for a lot of Huckabee voters, they're going to have to do some soul-searching about whether or not they want to stick with their man," says Bauer, "and by doing that [they] guarantee the nomination of McCain." Hey Gary, if you had encouraged Romney to get out of the race and had you done some soul searching and backed a 100% pro-life, pro-family candidate instead of a flip-flopping Romney, we would have seen Governor Huckabee do even better than he did on Super Tuesday. Note to self “In the future ignore whatever Gary Bauer says.” The bottom line is the pro-family voters showed more leadership, commitment and sense then some of our pro-family leaders. Look at the incredible results, Huckabee achieved on Super Tuesday with little money and without the support from pro-family leaders such as James Dobson, Gary Bauer, Jay Sekulow , Tony Perkins and Pat Robertson. Imagine what Governor Huckabee could have done if Gary Bauer, Jay Sekulow and Tony Perkins were not in the camp, by word or deed, of Johnny-Come-Lately-“pro-family”-Romney. What if Pat Robertson had not been fawning all over pro-abortion, same-sex marriage, anti-Second Amendment Mayor Giuliani? Imagine if Dr. Dobson would have spent less time telling us who he could not vote for and instead told us why he could support Governor Huckabee with his 100% pro-life, pro-family track record. Dr. Dobson has clearly revealed that he is tired and did not have the “want to” when it came to this presidential fight. Funny, how Dr. Dobson said this of Fred Thompson just a few months ago. Every Presidential election is the most important in today’s world and Dr. Dobson refused to jump in with both feet and back Governor Huckabee. First Dr. Dobson told us he could not support Fred Thompson, then he said he could not support Giuliani, and I agreed with him on Giuliani. Then Dr. Dobson told us he could not support McCain. Really? Well, there is a news flash.
However, by not supporting Huckabee and by putting out a statement on Super Tuesday that he could not support McCain many felt he was sending the message that he was comfortable with Romney. The bottom line is, Dr. Dobson, Sekalow, Perkins, Bauer and Robertson should have come out early on and supported the pro-life, pro-family candidacy of Governor Huckabee. After Fred Thompson dropped out, Huckabee was the only 100% pro-life, pro-family candidate. Thanks to a lack of leadership, we now have John McCain picking up speed to the nomination. If McCain is the nominee, true conservatives may vote but I believe hundreds of thousands will not. In a race of McCain against Hillary/Obama, I think the latter win. And who can you thank? In my humble opinion the pro-family, pro-life leaders that were neither leading nor thinking about the main thing being the main thing: A candidate with a 100% pro-life, pro-family record. Has Romney money or Mormon money gone to any pro-family organizations over the past two years and thus compromised the discernment of some? The bottom line is; we need new pro-family, pro-life leaders. I do want to thank Bauer, Sekulow, Perkins, Dobson and Robertson for their service to our country and the pro-family, pro-life movement. You have accomplished many good things and I thank you. However, your time has now passed and you have failed a huge test and thus I must no longer follow your lead or trust your instincts. If others can still follow you then I believe they may do so at the peril of our cause. From now on I will take your advice, counsel, and opinion with a grain of salt because of your incompetent leadership and lack of discernment during the presidential race of 2008. Your decisions seem to have largely been based upon pragmatism; which is really just another way of saying the end justifies the means. From now on I will be looking to a group of pro-life, pro-family leaders that kept the main thing the main thing and backed Governor Huckabee. Thank you Janet Folger, Dick Bott, Don Wildmon, Tim Wildmon, Sany Rios and others. NOTE TO READERS: Howse's statement comes on the heels of three Underground Journal articles sent to over a million recipients. They reveal a multi-million-dollar cover-up for Romney involving "conservative" lawyers, leaders, radio hosts and columnists. To fool voters about his Ted Kennedy-Barney Frank-style social policies in Massachusetts, Romney has lavished cash, career opportunities and other enticements to buy silence, distortions and outright lying from those backing him as a "pro-life," pro-traditional marriage "conservative." He advanced homosexual "marriage" gay adoption, "gay" indoctrination in schools, harmed parents' rights and signed a law subsidizing abortions at $50 each.
