Humane Mouse Traps are Great for People Afraid of Mice

A large number of people are absolutely petrified of rodents like rats and mice.  It seems like they are more afraid of these little rodents than rabid dogs or sharks.  When you think about it, it seems rather ridiculous.  Nonetheless, it is a situation that we have to deal with.  The reality of the situation is that many people who are afraid of these animals live alone and sometimes have mice running loose in their homes or apartments.  Here is what you need to know in order to safely and humanely control get them out of the house.

While many people are quick to purchase cheap glue traps or snap traps, these are usually not  the best idea.  In many cases, you will have to pick up a glue trap in the morning with a mouse still alive and struggling to free itself in the sticky mouse.  There will be nothing you can do to help it, and you will be forced to either kill it yourself or put it in the trash can still alive.

A much better option is to get what is called a humane mouse trap.  These are surprisingly simple little traps that effectively catch mice inside them alive.  While many people wince at the idea of having to handle live mice, it is actually quite easy and safe.  In fact, you never have to touch them at all.  Most humane traps have simple doors that close inward.  To release the mouse, all you need to do is set the trap down on the ground and either flip it over or pull the door up.  Don’t worry, a mouse will never jump out of the trap and bite you.  They are much more afraid of you than you are of them!  All you need to do is step backward a little bit and smile as the little fella slips away into the woods to begin a new chapter in life.
