How to Teach Your Children to Make Money Online
In the last few years, there have been many stories arising of people who work a very short week, while at the same time making money hand over fist. Mostly these people seem to make their money through various techniques on the internet. This trend shows no sign of abating, and in fact seems to be producing extremely wealth people (labelled as the “Nouveau Rich”) at a progressively faster rate.
Many envy, few take the steps necessary. But most can see that this is the way of the future. The internet is certainly going to be around for generations to come, so the question begs to be asked, “how do I teach my kids how to make easy money online?”
What sort of lessons can you give to your children that will not only teach them the basics of working to earn online, but perhaps in future to turn into a career? This is made even harder when most parents usually don’t possess the knowledge to pass onto their children. The options left open to a parent are limited:
– Leave a child’s education entirely to a school
– Self teach money making methods to pass on to your child
– Enrol your children in a course to teach the online income techniques, either online of face to face.
All of these options are fraught with issues, whether it be allowing your children free rein on roaming the web, to the multitude of scammers who are out there on the web, all claiming to have the answers to how to earn easy money online. Lets have a look at each one, and weigh up the pros and cons.
1: Leave a child’s education to a school
This is not an option most active parents prefer. They realize that even the best schools will have holes in their curriculum, and that very few teachers will have even a rudimentary knowledge of online money making methods. If you don’t see this as a priority, then don’t worry about it, but if you do, perhaps one of the next 2 options will be preferable.
2: undertake a course to then pass the information on to your child
It is a long and challenging journey, the one required to undertake money making methods. There are so many scammers and con men out there that it is highly improbable that you will actually find a method which works without a large amount of trial and error. There are also so many various techniques out there, that even if you learn one, your child may not be interested in it. In a case study by Chuck Holton on Youtube, we see his ingenious approach to teaching his children how to making cash online. His approach is this:
- Assess your child’s strength’s/ interests (writing, video, social media marketing, photography, web design etc.). If you can’t find one, begin to cultivate it.
- Research places that they can turn these skills into money, and understand the site/strategy first so that you can be their “tech support”.
- Actively encourage them, measure them, reward them.
I would personally recommend this as the best option. Not only are you screening a lot of the information that your child comes into contact with, you are learning yourself also.
3: Enrol your children in a course to teach the online income techniques, either online of face to face
This is risky for many reasons. You don’t really know what sort of information and people your child will be coming into contact with. Many parents are rightfully wary when it comes to the web. Many a child comes into contact with bad material on the web, and parents want to ensure this doesn’t happen. The other factor is that very few people can offer an approach to making money online that works. Most will give you massive promises, but few will pay off. Better to stick to option 2 in my opinion
