How Lipo Risks Are Reduced by Laser Technique

Despite being considered a relatively safe procedure as plastic surgeries go, liposuction is still a surgical procedure and any surgery is a serious matter. There are inherent risks that come with any surgical procedure and liposuction is no exception. While we cannot eliminate risks completely there are new technique that help mitigate some of the most serious and common problems. That is one of the greatest benefits of laser assisted liposuction. This new technique allows surgeons to target unwanted body with a new precision unlike ever before.

With greater precision comes less damage to the surrounding tissue of the treatment area. This means there is significantly less risk of any serious or major side effects or complications. One of the most common risks of traditional liposuction is excessive bleeding. It is not uncommon for a patient to require a blood transfusion to make up for the amount of bleeding. With laser assisted liposuction there is a lot less blood loss because there is less chance of damaging blood vessels. When small capillaries are damaged the trace amount of blood is dried up by the heat of the laser.

Common to most surgical procedures is the risk of infection to the incision area. Since laser liposuction utilizes smaller tools and requires a small incision that alone reduces the risk of an infection. There will still be prescriptive antibiotics for preventive measure.

Most complications during the recovery and healing after the surgery are a direct result of improper drainage of the area. Since laser liposuction causes a lot less fluid to be leaked in the first place, the recovery is less painful and less eventful in a good way. The lowered amount of stress on surrounding tissue makes the recovery much faster as well. A typical patient could expect to be cleared for work and regular daily activities in just a matter of days.
