Got My First Tattoo Kit

I decided recently that I might be making a career change. I’ve always been somewhat of an artist, and I’ve always had an interest in working directly with the human body – so, you can see where this is going! Yes – I’m talking about becoming a tattoo artist. Projecting far into the future, it would be an awesome sight to imagine myself owning or at least running a small tattoo shop, having clients, and working one on one with people to create body art for them, to create something that means something to them, ya know?

To that end, I ordered my first tattoo kit. Now, I realize these tattooing kits are probably not the most professional equipment. I mean, the target audience is people like me, who aren’t even tattoo artists yet, at least, not “real” ones! Nevertheless, the price is right (it was $149- although there were cheaper ones for $79, but I didn’t want to get a bunch of junk…) and it will give me a decent idea of what the equipment is like to work with.

I’m probably going to bite the bullet and use myself as a test subject. I actually DO NOT have any ink at all, which I realize is funny for someone wanting to be a tattoo artist. Nevertheless, that will change soon once I get my hands on this kit. I think I will practice on myself, maybe making a silly little doodle on my leg or something – in some spot that is easy to hide.

I’m pretty psyched though! This could be the beginning of something big. And if not, well, the tattoos kit was just $150, and I could probably pawn it off to a friend or maybe give it to someone I know who actually does tattoo work and they can get some out of it.
