Getting the Best Menu Cover for Your Restaurant

How do you suppose the type of menu cover you choose will affect whether or not you continue to have guests coming to dine with you?  The way this works is that the impression your guests have of your foods and restaurant in general has to do with the whole of what they experience with you.  And, the one thing that all of your guests will hold in their own hands is your restaurant menu cover.  So, while it will not replace the food in importance, it is one of those subtle things that you need to take into consideration.

If you think about it, when they enter a new restaurant, all people notice the decoration and the menus.  If you own a restaurant or manage one, then you already know this point.  You know that it is the details that matter.  Don’t forget that in this domain small details make the difference. If you want to gain new customers or if you want to have a popular restaurant, be careful when you are choosing these smaller details.  Many owners of different restaurant don’t take care of how their menus look and that’s why they’ve lost a considerable number of guests.

You can blame circumstances or the economy on reasons why your establishment’s numbers are down or you can take some action.  When times are flush, the little things tend to go unnoticed.  But, when things are tight and there are isses to address, that is when it is more financially challenging to make the tough decisions.  Before you find yourself in this situation, decide on what type of covers for your menus you’d like to portray.  There are any number of considerations from size to price and materials from which to choose.  If you want to purchase high-quality menu covers, you can choose ones that are hundreds of dollars each.  Yes, for a truly custom menu cover, you might pay this amount.  It is a bit exorbitant and it is likely reserved for those establishments that serve a very elite clientele and have a smaller number of tables.

For larger restaurants doing more of a volume type of business, then you need to consider more budget-friendly styles.  These are more typically the vinyl or plastic style of menu cover.  While less expensive, they can still get the job done for the average place.  As mentioned, though, these will never suffice if you have a high end steakhouse or some other trendy restaurant.  For these situations, only a custom design or leather menu cover will do.  Leather is by far the more classic of the material choices.  You really can’t go wrong with this one.

For a more trendy or hip feel, you can experiment with some non-traditional choices like metal and bamboo or even cork.  Cork makes for a great option for a wine menu as well.  Metal can be used in some interesting ways to create not only elegant looks but some really unique features as well.  You can have a logo or image stamped or cut right into the metal itself.  Choices include stainless steel, aluminum, copper and bronze.  Then, these can be treated to create any number of patterns or designs from the reaction with the metal.  Again, you have to know from the very beginning that custom styles are more expensive than the other types. But the price also depends on the materials that are used. Just think how your customers will be impressed by your menu cover, just whetting their appetite even more.
