We live in a day and age where many people are very image conscious and part of that has to do with looking and feeling good. Having a gym at home to exercise at your own convenience is a very nice thing to do. Most of the equipment needed in order to do work outs at home are not very expensive and do not take up a lot of space. An example of such equipments is squat racks. Squat racks are a type of equipment that is used to hold weights when doing squats.

Squats are a type of exercise that is done to make thigh and back muscles stronger. The squat is one of the most important exercise routines that can be done to strengthen the bones, ligaments and the hips as well. Squat racks are very simple tools that are very easy to “operate” and are very efficient and easy to install. Squat racks are also known as power racks. There are various types of exercises that can be done with squat racks. Examples of different types of squats would be the front squat, which is when the barbell is held in front while doing the squats.

The other 2 popular squat routines that can be accomplished using squat racks are the hack squat with barbell held with hands and placed behind the legs and jump squats, which is when the lifter jumps when raising the weights. Squat racks are made of 4 standing posts which will have level bars to place the weights. The bars can be placed at different heights in order accommodate people of different heights. The important thing is that it should have good balance to accommodate the large amount of weight that will be put on it.

Buying squat racks is very easy nowadays. Most large department stores will stock them. Another place to look for them is on the internet. Either way it should be easy to find one at a good price. When you finally buy one it will be a great addition to your gym.
