Get a cheap Aroma rice cooker

July 15, 2010 | Author: Admin | Filed under: Uncategorized

With the popularity of eating rice these days, many of us are now buying our own rice cooking appliances. There are many different brands to choose from. And their prices are vastly different too. High end machines are typically made by Japanese electronics producers such as Zojirushi, Tiger and Sanyo. It is possible to get a rice cooker for a fraction of the price if you know what you are looking for. The question is, how much are you willing to spend? And what sort of features are you after?

If all you require is a basic machine that is capable of cooking rice without having to do anything fancy then you may want to consider a cheap Aroma rice cooker like the ARC-733G. This company is actually based in the U.S. so you would be supporting a domestic company by buying one of their machines. It does its job well and comes for less than $30 so is a real bargain.

To cook rice using this machine all you have to do is measure out how many cups you want to prepare. A measuring cup is provided with the machine. One cup feeds roughly two people, assuming they do not eat huge portions. Simply add up to three cups of uncooked rice to the inner bowl and then give the rice a good wash. White rice especially has a starchy coating that is best to get rid of to improve the flavor and help ensure that the rice cooker does not boil over.

The Aroma machine has a simple on and off button. When the rice is ready it will automatically cut off and go instead to its keep warm mode. This will keep the rice in a ready to be eaten condition for a few hours. The sooner you eat rice after it has been prepared, the better. You can find out more about cheap rice cookers here.
