Four Reasons to Buy a Repossessed RV
Here are four reasons to buy a repossessed RV:
1. Most repossessed RVs are in terrific condition. Frequently they have had all their routine maintenance and have been taken care of. Since most RV use is seasonal, often only a few weeks to a month each year, many have been hardly used, especially since repossession most often occurs within two years of purchase.
2. Repo RVs are a great value. A used motorhome can cost half the price of a new one due to how quickly new RVs lose value after they are bought and then for the next couple years. Buy the same RV without having to suffer all the lost value. Let someone else do that. Plus, save in interest since the loan will be much smaller and the interest much less. Some new RV payments are similar to an owner’s house payment.
3. Buying at a repo auction means no mark-up. Many dealers buy at bank repo auctions, then do a few things to fix-up the RV before selling it for much more to make a nice profit. Buying at the auction instead of the dealership and avoiding the mark-up, means the same used RV at the dealership costs you a lot less at auction. Since banks do not want to hold onto the RVs and the loans have stopped bringing in money, they are eager to sell them quickly and improve their books again. With low starting bids, a smart bidder can get a great deal.
4. Repo RVs are as enjoyable as new ones. Repo RVs are great for short or long trips just like new ones are. Pretty much everything available in a new RV can be found in a repossessed one. Frequently they have all the upgrades and amenities, but for much less money than new. Best Luck in the purchase of your next used RV!
