The first exercise that you can do for you to be able to jump high is sprints. Doing quick sprints develops the explosive power that you need, so you could leap higher may it be for basketball or any kind of sports. It enhances your “take off” power and builds your speed significantly. Find yourself an open field so you could practice on your sprinting. Keep in mind that speed plus explosiveness is the true key in order for you to leap high in basketball.
The next exercise that you need to focus on is depth jumps. This will develop and empower your fast twitch muscle fibers. This is also deemed effective in terms of building that explosiveness in you. To do this, simply stand on a solid platform and step down or off it. The moment your feet touch the ground, propel yourself up as fast and as high as you can. Start with three sets and ten repetitions per set and gradually increase the number of reps that you do.
The last exercise that can surely add inches to your jump is Olympic weightlifting. A lot of people are unaware of the benefits of this particular exercise. You see, if this exercise is executed properly, it will build all your muscle groups starting from your ankles and up to your hips. That added weight further strengthens the muscles of your legs.
