Doolin Hotels: 3 Best Hotels In Doolin Ireland

May 10, 2010 | Author: Admin | Filed under: Accomodation

Doolin hotels have really had to compete with the large hotel chains over the last two decades as service and room quality has become even more critical to bringing in guests. The independent hotels selected here represent the top 3 hotels in Doolin Ireland famed for their views, great service and wonderful rooms.

The Tir Gan Ean 4-star hotel is one of the new breed of hotel in Doolin. The emphasis here is on combining Irish Celtic design (in the furniture/architecture) with modern creature comforts to provide an almost boutique hotel feel.

Each of the 12 rooms are uniquely designed and fitted out with the latest plasma TVs, modern en-suites, wifi and under-floor heating. While all this contemporary design could have proved offsetting within the rural context of Doolin it actually sits quite well and is balanced out by the welcoming Irish staff and the traditional home-made breakfasts.

At the other end of the spectrum the country manor style of the Aran View House Hotel is a more traditional hotel with the best sea views of the Aran Islands. While recent refurbishment has upgraded the en-suites and rooms it has not detracted from the comfortable nature of the spacious rooms.

Aside from the great views the hotel restaurant is popular with guests, non-residents and locals due to an excellent chef and menu of traditional Irish favorites all prepared using the best produce from the region.

Finally, the family run Ballyvara Guest House neatly combines the modern and traditional, and all within a stone’s throw of Doolin village itself. This newly built 4-star guest-house has large comfortable rooms that incorporate modern facilities such as satellite TV and power showers.

The addition of 2 self-catering open plan apartments with their own kitchens is a great option for larger groups while all guests should avail of the splendid breakfasts that combine European and American tastes with everything from pancakes with maple syrup to the ever popular cooked Irish breakfast.
