Delete Facebook Account

March 30, 2010 | Author: Admin | Filed under: Computers and Technology

When someone wants to get rid of their face book account they have two choices, either to deactivate it or delete it. The most popular is to deactivate an account, but a problem with this is there will still be some personal information from the user. A deactivated account will still have the user’s friend lists, photo’s and other personal information on the Facebook server. To truly get rid of everything you will need to delete facebook account for good.

The first thing you should do is remove everything from your profile. All the pictures you have uploaded should be deleted; all your friends should also be removed. Any comments or status quotes you’ve made should be taken off, by the time you are done your Facebook account should be empty.

Next you will need to send an email message the address privacy at facebook dot com and ask them to permanently delete the account for you. You will need to provide a valid email address, make sure to specify that you want it to be deleted, not deactivated.

Facebook will probably take a few days before they respond but when they do the message should confirm that the account has been deleted. If you haven’t heard back for over a week then you should write them again. Some secondary addresses you could try are info and support.

Once you have gotten a reply message from facebook you should try to access your account. Try to log in to facebook using your usual information. If you get a message asking you to reactivate your account that means that your account has only been deactivated and you’ll need to try again to get it properly deleted. If you aren’t allowed to log in because the account doesn’t exist then it will mean that you have been able to properly delete a facebook account.
