Communication: The Key to a Healthy Relationship

May 15, 2010 | Author: Admin | Filed under: Relationships

Communication is integral to every relationship and one of the most powerful forms of expression comes in the form of fighting. Every couple fights, even if they are one and only true loves, and it is how you go about disagreeing that will determine how strong a bond is. Make sure not to resort to low blows or dragging out the past when you fight with your loved one. It’s fine to express disagreements from time to time and in fact it’s essential, so do it in the most mature and calm way possible. Communication in good times and bad times is what will ensure two people stay together no matter what pressures they may face in life.

When it comes to keeping our relationship bonds strong it can be quite challenging in these fast paced times. After all there are so many various distractions like work or school, or overall questions as to what we can do to keep ourselves healthy. But taking time to build on your relationships is always important because it is the bonds between our loved partners that keep us strong. When a relationship is going in the wrong direction, it is the number one factor in determining our moods and general happiness. The truth is that a solid relationship takes intelligence and even if you might be soulmates, you and your partner have to put work into keeping things healthy.

The primary factor in determining the health of a relationship is communication with your partner. Interestingly, communication can come in a number of forms as it doesn’t just mean having a chat your partner. You can communicate through your actions and body language in as well as letting your feelings be known by what you choose not to say. But if you hide everything from your partner then the other person will be left in the dark and that is never a good scenario. It doesn’t really matter how intuitive someone may be, no one has the ability to read minds so help your partner out by communicating your needs.
