College Laptop Computer

Imagine this: You just graduated from high school, and you are planning to attend college. You want to buy a laptop computer to take with you. However, you have little money and no credit. You can not afford a laptop, and you can not borrow money to get one. In this case, you might want to weight the advantages and disadvantages of two different options–renting a laptop or using laptop computer financing.

Today, a growing number of students are making use of the online sites that offer laptop computer financing. Many of them weighed the two options mentioned above and chose the latter. Why did they decide the finance computer option, rather than rent one?

Many students have little or no credit history. When a student goes online and finds a website that offers a financing plan, a plan that will provide that student with a laptop, then that student also gets help with building a credit history. All on time payments on the laptop will be reported to the three major credit industries.

Moreover, a student with little or no credit can use time spent on online research to get a special deal, while also obtaining a financed, laptop computer.  One web site that offers laptop computer financing also provides customers with the opportunity to sign up for its “Purchase Protection Plan.” When a consumer selects that plan, then the website agrees to do away with any shipping charges that are associated with either warranty or non-warranty repairs.

If a student gets a financed laptop, then that student can later look for a chance to refinance that computer. That could make payments even lower. A student renting a computer would never be provided with the same “gift.”

Considering all the ways that a student can finance a laptop computer, no student should need to start college without one. By the same token, no student should reach the end of four years at college without a credit history.
