Change A Rooms Atmosphere With Candles

Candles can easily and quickly change the atmosphere in any room.  There are so many styles, shapes and colors and that makes them such a versatile decorative item for any home. If you want to add even more style to your candles, matching them up with candle holders is a great way to spruce up your décor.  While candles are no longer a necessity around the home, like they once were prior to electricity, they are still just as popular to bring beauty and warmth to a room.

A great way to gently light up a bedroom, living area or outdoor patio is by using candle wall sconces.  If you tend to entertain guests at night or like to spend a quiet evening out on your patio, then using a few tea light latners will add a soft and romantic glow.

Votive candles are popular in home decoration as they can be placed in many locations around the home to provide a relaxing atmosphere.  They are also ideal for a soothing candlelight bath to help you wind down in the evenings and many come in a variety of scents to add a bit of aromatherapy as well.

Tapered candles are a fantastic way to add a bit of elegance to your dinner table.  You can easily set a romantic mood with a few red or black candles, with decorative candle holders.  They make a wonderful and inexpensive centerpiece.

Pillar candles, tapered candles or votive candles on decorative plates or jar candles can be placed in a bedroom, bathroom, living room or kitchen. If you want to use scented candles then you want to pick the appropriate scent for the area.  For example, candles that have light scents such as peppermint, pine or linen are great for the living room.  Scents such as fruits or baked goods are perfect for the kitchen. Scented candles like lavender or vanilla are perfect for the bedroom or bathroom.

Candles can be the most fun during the holiday seasons.  Mixing various candle scents to coincide with the seasons can add an element of fun to any room.  You can also decorate them for certain holidays, such as Halloween.  Mixing a few floating black candles in a decorative bowl or with creepy critters at the bottom is a great way to decorate a table with Halloween candy or goodies.
