Thus, the standards for safe use for indoors is different than the ones set for outdoor use, given that lighting that will be used outdoors is exposed to different elements than lighting that is used indoors. Consequently, whether consumers wish to enjoy a candle chandelier indoors or outdoors, they can be guided by Underwriters Laboratories, to purchase one that has been deemed safe for the specific use. Underwriters Laboratories usually designates that they have tested the product for a particular application with a UL somewhere on the product label.

While many choices are available to consumers these days when it comes to shopping for home lighting, including when shopping for candle chandeliers, they may wish to be guided by the aforementioned programs, to purchase lighting that has been tested for safety as well as energy efficiency.
