Band Saws and Urethane Tires

Band saws are some of the most amazing power tools that are required for building and crafting projects and these saws can cut through any material if the right blade and proper band saw is chosen. Band saws can last for a long time and provide work for years if taken care of and usually even the problems that arise are due to the band saw tires that might have received some wear and tear being on the band saw wheels. Replacing these does require practice but it is not that expensive or that difficult and can be replaced in no time to provide your band saw with the same amazing performance.

Band saws are judged by their throat capacity which can range from eight inches to thirty six inches and they can have a two wheel or three wheel band saw designs for the blades. The blades will also come in a number of specifications and sizes and from narrow to really wide thickness. Usually the wider blades are left for the resawing or other straight cuts while the curved cuts are managed with the help of the narrow blades. For home usage you can buy a band saw that is up to fourteen inches in throat capacity and that will be sufficient for most amateur projects. But for professional or commercial usage where the band saw will be used quite often and for some heavy duty work it is important to get one at least in the fourteen inches capacity or more.

This is because these fourteen inches or higher capacity machines are going to be sturdier and meant for heavy shop work while anything lower than that will be too light and low power for commercial use. Another item that you need to think about will be band saw blades since you will need to buy a few blades in order to ensure the proper cutting of materials. For commercial and shop use you must buy even more range of blades because there is no idea what customer may come with what request. The band saws over a table are also very versatile and would do an amazing job commercially. Although the band saw does require a bit of setting up, once it does set it can provide you with amazing performance for ages.

Sometimes you may need to replace band saw tires to make your band saw working like new again. This is because band saw tires can get damaged due to more usage and once they are damaged they cannot be replaced but can only be changed. Urethrane band saw tires are much more reliable than the rubber variety. This is because Urethane band saw tires can last longer and they usually do not require adhesive. Urethane tires are bought according to the wheel size of the band saw and they may cost you anywhere from twenty dollars to about fifty dollars depending on the size and quality of the tires. It is better to keep checking your band saw tires regularly for wear and tear because this can help you save the machine from acquiring some kind of further damage.
