Acne is a usually an adolescent phenomena, though some people have problems with acne their whole lives.  Getting pimples can sometimes be embarrassing especially for teenagers.  There are ways to keep acne and pimples to a minimum or help prevent them from coming in the first place.  For example, eating healthily and staying away from sugar and oily food has a huge impact on your body.  Keeping away from chocolates, sweets, and junk food can help reduce acne.  In this article we will discuss how to get rid of pimples as well as learn how to avoid getting them.

If you already have a big pimple and need to get rid of it as soon as you can without taking medication, here are some home remedies you might want to try.

1. Squeeze the juice out of a few lemons, then apply to a cloth.  Put the cloth over your face at night and wash it off in the morning.  Only try this if you do not have sensitive skin.  The lemon helps to dry up the oil in the pimples and clear away acne.

2. Probably the most popular home remedy involves tooth paste.  All you have to do is apply tooth paste to the pimple overnight and wash it off in the morning.  The tooth paste helps open up the pores of your skin so when you wash your face in the morning, the soap goes into your skin and cleanses away the grime that is causing pimples.

3. Wash your face with neem based soap three or four times a day.  Neem is known to help cure acne and reduce the risk of pimples.

If you do not want to get acne or pimples again after you are clear, there are some precautions you can take.  Wash your face every morning with soap and water and every evening before you go to bed.  Cut oily foods from your diet.  Also watch out for foods with a lot of sugar.  Most junk foods will have an amazing amount of sugar and a few sodas will surely bring on acne if you are prone to it.  So eat right and live clean.
