A Menu Cover Is Important

March 3, 2010 | Author: Admin | Filed under: Business

The menu cover is one of the first things a diner sees when coming into a restaurant. It has a lot to do with the impression made on the customer and whether they will return. What type of menu you design will have a lot to do with the clientele that frequents the restaurant.

The impression you want to make on the customer is contained writing the menu and its cover. You can have a larger menu with larger writing, making it easier to read for older people. On the other hand the menu can be smaller with smaller writing within. It is obvious that the cover will determine the size of the menu.

Another thing to consider is, should the cover could be plain or fancy? Will a fancy cover do more for your bottom line? Or is it an additional unnecessary expense? The type of clientele will determine how elaborate the menu cover will be. A crowd more interested in just filling their stomachs would not need a fancy cover on the menu. The reverse would hold true for upper income clientele.

Another decision that should be made is whether you want all the information contained within, or have added papers added to the top with a paper clip or some other device. If you are adding luncheon specials to the cover, the cover need not be fancy. It will only be covered by the papers added.

There is a lot to be thought of before ordering the cover for the menu. If it does not work out, another style will be needed, causing an additional expense. It is recommended to go with the cheaper clear style if undecided and a more expensive and detailed cover can be ordered later if needed. A restaurant menu cover certainly has a monetary relationship to the restaurant.
