A Child’s First Notebook Computer

March 3, 2010 | Author: Admin | Filed under: Computers and Technology

While older adults may not use a computer very often or even during the day to day activities of their job, the younger generation has a completely different view point of laptops. Students are being introduced to laptops at a very young age and more parents are realizing the advantages of getting a kids laptop for their child to use. It not only introduces them to laptops at a young age, but also helps with motor skills and their ability to be responsible.

The best laptop for kids? I can honestly say there isn’t a best laptop. For a child’s first laptop is less about what kind of laptop they are using and more that they are actually getting to use one. It doesn’t even need to be a laptop necessarily. It could even be an old desktop or any other computer that you have around the house. The important thing is to get them using a computer as young as possible. If you are going to get a computer that is specifically for your child you can always go with a used model to save some money. Having a model that is slightly older won’t matter to your child and they’ll still get the full advantages of it.

Operating System – Make sure the computer you give to your child has a version of Microsoft Windows on it. It can be Windows XP, Vista, Windows 7 or any of the many variations of those. The reason this is so important is because when your child goes to school and starts using a computer there is a very good chance that they will be using Microsoft Windows and letting them use a similar version at home is what makes all the difference is getting them up to speed with how to navigate around and actually use the computer.

$200 for a laptop for your child seems crazy to a lot of people, but it’s a small price to pay for the advantage it gives your child growing up. They learn so easy when they are young, that the model will be very well spent.
