8mm Black Titanium Wedding Bands Are The Sweet Spot

Titanium is without a doubt a very good looking metal from which to fabricate a ring. It can also be combined with other metals for a softer overall look. You could have a sliver of polished yellow gold sandwiched between brushed platinum that gives a softer and more distinguished look to the wedding band.  You could also have black titanium mixed in there which provides a nice contrast to regular gray titanium. The 8mm black titanium wedding band is considered as the optimal width, suitable for most men with ring sizes 9 and up.

Black titanium bands have been quite popular recently since it is one of the few black metals out there that does not scratch easily. You know what happens when a soft black metal like blackened silver gets scratched. It looks rather horrible. Titanium wedding bands for men that has been blackened on the other hand is almost through and through black so even if this hard metal were to get gouged rather severely it would still look black.  It is even superior to the black steel cable used by Charriol in their Celtic Noir jewelry collection.  I have seen a friend of mine wear hers and the cable has a bit of a scratch because of the shiny steel showing through the black. In my opinion this line of cable jewelry is merely coated despite what Charriol may say to the contrary – that their black cable is through and through black.

Charriol would use black titanium instead of the coated steel if they could. The problem with using titanium as a cable is that it is much more labor intensive to twist it into the kind of fine cable strands that Charriol uses in their jewelry. Titanium is also a much more resistive and brittle metal than steel. It is nowhere near as ductile and so wouldn’t be a good candidate for jewelry quality metal cable material.  More than likely it would tend to break a lot when subjected to the stresses that steel cable experiences when one of Charriol’s cable bracelets are being put on or taken off a wrist.
